Important steps have been taken in the communications business in the period of the last decade. What are the key challenges recognised in our work and what the future development trends in the field of communications were the most important issues discussed by the members of the programme team of the 10th SKOJ; we tried to prepare for them so that we can take part in their formation proactively and responsibly.We named this process of rapidly developing profession Communication Evolution which is also the title of this year's public relations conference. The current trend which is at the same time the key topic of this year's conference was recognised in the process of Connecting people, knowldge and interesta  or the so-called integration role of communication which developed from ordinary delivery of information to integration.This topical and interesting programme that will enable the participants of the conference to develop their understanding of the role of communication and specific orientations for improving the efficiency and ability to measure the performance also in the "finance language" can only be implemented in co-operation with you.
Your knowledge and experience is invaluable. We are waiting for you!You are therefore invited to send your contributions to the topics listed below.The following topics for contributions have been defined:1. Connect! Integrated approach to communications management:a. Strategy vs. tools goals vs. mission how to maximise business effects?;b. Different communication organisation models (connection as challenge or obstacle?);c. Connecting communication with other organisational areas (marketing, HRM, CRM, sales, marketing, etc.);d. Are we a cost or an investment? How to measure efficiency of communication?e. Integrated communication as an opportunity to increase the communication effect.2. Incorporate! New tools and creative use of the existing communication tools:a. Creative use of communication tools;b. Challenges of new tools (blogs, forums, "virus PR", etc.);c. Rumours as communication tool;3. Operate! See from the global perspective, operate locally and vice versa specific aspects of communication management:a. Communication management at the regional level,b. Global communication management,c. Communication management in multi-cultural environment.4. Act responsible! »Corporate social responsibility« as an element of management and communication:a. Aligning stakeholders' interests;b. Integration of local communities in decision-making processes;c. Participation (in adopting decisions) of the stakeholders as the key aspect of social responsibility.d. Sponsorships and donations in sports, culture and science.The contributions will be selected by the programme board consisting of:- Tjaai Artnik Knibbe, Dnevnik,- Mitja Blagajac, SPEM Communication team,- Betka Bouha, Formitas,- Lidija Bregar, Sava,- Rajko Dolinaek, Head, one of the founding members of the PRSS,- Ladeja Godina Koair, MSc, The Institute of Business growth and Creativity (Inatitut zaposlovno rast in kreativnost)- Rok Isteniè, Merkur,- Gordana Markoviæ, Informa Echo,- Uraula Menih Dokl, Gorenje,- Natalija Postru~nik, M.A., the insurance company Zavarovalnica Maribor, President of the Management Board of the PRSS- Sabina Povaiè `timec, RTV Slovenija,- Marjeta T. Vesel, MSc, Pristop.The following criteria shall be taken into account by the programme board:- Importance of the topic;- Expert relevance (contents, language, media);- Contribution to the practice and theory.The length of your contributions should range between 3,500 and 7,000 characters(including spaces). They should contain the following:- Short introduction, including the motto/message of the contribution;- A concise description of contents (processes, example, experience, expert/scientific analyses and findings, etc.); - Conclusion (a theoretical/practical contribution);- Bibliography/references.Send your contributions (in accordance with the prescribed structure) to the programme board by no later than 20 April 2006 to the following address: prss@piar.si. The programme board will select those which are in compliance with the defined criteria of selection. The authors of selected contributions will not have to pay the participation fee and their contributions will be included in the collection of articles of the 10th SKOJ as printed publication or published in the selected media (PRSS website). As the duration of
the conference is limited, it is possible that not all the selected contributions will be included in the programme although they correspond to the substantial criteria of the conference; the authors of such contributions will not have to pay the participation fee either and are also kindly invited to actively participate in the conference.The authors will be informed of the selection by no later than 15 May 2006. All the selected contributions will be published, in full length, in the collection of articles which is why they must be submitted in their final version and sent in the prescribed form by no later than 6 June 2006.
What's new?The theme of the 10th SKOJ is integration. This is why the Public Relations Society of Slovenia established connections with the University of Ljubljana The Faculty of Economics, The University of Maribor The Marketing Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the University of Ljubljana - Marketing Communication and Public Relations Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
