Questo il tema del simposio organizzato dalla Public Relations Society of America a Washington il 4 e 5 maggio 2006.

"Rebuilding America's Global Reputation: Who Will Lead?" Two-Day Symposium presented by the PRSA International Section in partnership with the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS). May 4-5, 2006 - CSIS - 1800 K Street, NW - Washington, D.C.America's global leadership is being challenged. Polling data suggest our government's policies are criticized as being unilateral and its actions ill-advised; our corporations are viewed as focusing too much on the bottom line and our cultural offerings sometimes are considered offensive. Yet our products are eagerly consumed, our scientific and medical achievements lauded, admission to our universities coveted, and our freedoms admired around the world. Throughout its history, the United States has served as a magnet of opportunity. This two-day program brings together business leaders, diplomats, scholars, pollsters and journalists to examine this dichotomy. They will offer insights on how transnational corporations and other organizations can work more collaboratively with the government to forge a stronger, more persuasive public diplomacy. The event, the fourth in a series of PRSA International Section symposia, offers global communicators an opportunity to assess their roles in an increasingly complex process. This is the first Symposium in partnership with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a nonprofit, bipartisan public policy organization that seeks to advance global security and prosperity by providing strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decisionmakers. Scheduled speakers include: Dr. David Abshire, president, Center for the Study of the Presidency, co-founder and vice chairman, board of trustees, CSISJohn McWethy, retired national security correspondent, ABC News, and special project consultant, ABC News and PBS Shibley Telhami, Anwar Sadat professor, University of Maryland, nonresident senior fellow, Saban Center, The Brookings Institution James Murphy, global marketing director, marketing and communications, Accenture Jon Alterman, director, Middle East program, CSIS Thursday, May 4thThe Symposium will open with, "The Good the Bad and the Ugly," a presentation by global polling organizations featuring John Zogby, president and CEO, Zogby International and Dr. Steven Kull, director, Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) and the Center on Policy Attitudes, University of Maryland.
