Dear Colleagues, As I mentioned in my report on the June Board Meeting, IPRA is partnering with several different organisations to make London the public relations capital of the world for three days - October 20-22. Following the Board meeting on Wednesday, 20 October, IPRA members will have the opportunity of purchasing a ticket for a historic dinner, sponsored by the Institute for Public Relations Research & Education (based at the University of Florida in the United States). The featured speaker at this IPR reception and dinner will be noted IPRA member Harold Burson, the Founding Chairman of Burson-Marsteller. PR Week claims nobody has impacted public relations during the past half century more than Mr. Burson.
The IPRA Council will meet during the day on Thursday, 21 October and that evening the winners of the 2004 IPRA Golden World Awards will be saluted at a gala event at the historic Merchant Taylor's Hall in the City of London. We hope many IPRA members will attend in support of our GWA Awards Programme that many consider to be the ultimate international awards programme in our profession. We will conclude the activities on Friday, 22 October, the day following the GWA gala when IPRA members will have the option of attending a truly senior-level, one-day, management conference at a special reduced rate. This conference, held in conjunction with the Institute for Public Relations Research and Education and the Henley Management Centre, will take place at the Henley Management Center.We are making arrangements to obtain a concessionary hotel rate and details will be available shortly.
