Larissa e James Grunig vanno in pensione

Il 16 Aprile nella capitale americana una grande cena in loro onore.

Ospiti d'onore a Trieste dove Larissa parlerà nella prima sessione plenaria e James guiderà una delle tre sessioni parallele, i due Grunig in oltre trent'anni di attività di ricerca hanno dato un contributo decisivo per la costruzione di un corpo di conoscenza delle relazioni pubbliche nel mondo. Acclamati come rockstar in ogni angolo del mondo dalla Corea del Sud alla Russia, dal Sud Africa a Singapore,  hanno saputo crescere e lievitare talenti straordinari dall'indiano Sriramesh Krishnamurthy allo sloveno Dejan Vercic (anche questi protagonisti a Trieste).I due Grunig sono venuti diverse volte in Italia: un prima volta molti anni fa su invito dell'Università Pontificia in Vaticano, una seconda volta su invito della Fepi e della Iulm per un workshop sulle pari pportunità, una terza volta a Roma sempre su invito della Ferpi per il 1 Festival Mondiale delle Relazioni Pubbliche.Ecco l'invito al Grunig Retirement EventThe Department of Communication is pleased to announce a reception and dinner to celebrate James E. Grunig and Larissa A. Grunig's retirement. Guests will honor their three decades of leadership at the University of Maryland.The Grunigs have received more than a dozen lifetime achievement awards. Their groundbreaking research led to Maryland's number one ranking for public relations education by U.S. News and World Report and a Marquette University study.The Grunigs have taught more than 3,000 public relations students, and they have produced more than 400 publications and presentations.Reception & DinnerThe reception and dinner will occur on April 16, 2005, at 7 p.m. A no-host bar will be available. The Department of Communication recommends cocktail attire. Guests will arrive at the Marriott Inn and Conference Center at the University of Maryland University College, which is located at 3501 University Boulevard East in Adelphi. For additional details about the location, see http://www.umuc.edu/icc/icc_home.html. Attendees may park for free in Lot 1, which is in the back of the University of Maryland College Park and in front of the Marriott Inn and Conference Center. Tickets cost $55, and students receive a $20 discount. The Department of Communication appreciates additional donations to the James E. Grunig and Larissa A.
